As all of you are no doubt aware, we suffered a huge tragedy in Orlando this past weekend. I don’t care what your political or social affiliation is, it was a devastating loss of innocent lives. This event has pushed me to ensure that I live my life to the fullest and that I do my best to provide love and happiness to my family and to those around me. This includes all of you who come to my blog. I’ve been terrible at posting lately. It’s not that I don’t love the people that come to my site (my traffic has been on a pretty decent incline since April), it’s that for some reason, I haven’t had the a lot of free time to sit down and put my notes together to build my stories. My liquor cabinet is bulging so much that I have to build shelves to hold my bottles in a more organized fashion, and even then, I’ll have bottles that need to sit on top.
This photo is pretty much a good indication of my current mood. Scattered, haphazard, and disorganized. My thoughts have been on just a few things recently; work, kids, family, gaming. I’ve been so focused on these, that even my drinking game has slipped. For the past month, whenever I drink, I defer to college fallbacks (Jack and Coke, rum and Coke) or if I’m feeling particularly rambunctious, bourbon on the rocks (and occasionally neat, since Mrs. Drunkard loves it). I haven’t had the focus to be creative and fun.
All of that is changing. With renewed vigor and inspiration, new content will be coming and I’ll be focusing on providing inspiration…or just something to get you through yet another hump day.
I wish you all a happy, safe, and hopefully Drunkard week!
